9 Gennaio, 2012- Long uni day

Hmmm...how many hours of uni study can the government put in one day........hundreds!!!

There isn't much to tell about today, apart from the fact that we seemed to be in class all day, except for one break for a coffee and then for lunch.  It was a very long day indeed.

We had a light breakfast in the house before going to uni to have a 3 hr language course.  This morning we were split into 2 groups of varying abilities so we could concentrate on the grammatical points necessary.  Our group was with Anna and we went through pronouns again, and verbi pronominali (verbs used with pronouns).  It wasn't anything new, but interesting to see how Anna taught us as I'm sure I can use some of these ideas with the kids if we get to the stage we were today.

We could have gone a little faster through things, but in our group of 12, we are still all at different levels, so I did some of Dario's homework in class. I missed the first 1/2 hr of the lessons because I went to the Farmacia to get some panadeine forte.  After a cold weekend, my back seized up and I was desperate for some relief.

Luckily, the doctor was in the pharmacy and was able to sneakily prescribe me the medicine I needed!

Lunch was again in the same restaurant (it's starting to feel like groundhog day to be honest...!) and then afterwards, we headed back to uni to do the afternoon session with teenagers from Italy.  It was meant to be a sessions focused on the 'gergo giovanile' - young people's speak, but in the end the organisers just rotated the kids around tables with us and we asked them questions.

The only time I heard any different speech was when one of the boys spoke to the young girl, who was 8. Anyway.....no worries!  That finished at about 5.30pm and we then had some free time.

I went shopping for some books later and found a new book by Fabio Volo - called 'Le prime luci del mattino'.  It's a book for younger people, so I'm going to read it and see if we can read it at school - it's meant to be quite easy to read.

It was absolutely freezing in the evening as the heating wasn't working - nor was the hot water.  I was like a frozen little iceberg in our room.  It wasn't particularly lovely - and i ended up sleeping in my trousers, with 3 covers and then 2 pairs of socks and lots of jumpers!!!!  SO COLD!!!!!!

We couldn't find the people to fix it (as they were out and not responding to their phone) so we had to deal with it all night.  Poo.

Fra and I went out for dinner and had a pizza (4Euro) and then a salad, which we couldn't eat.  So we took it home for a snack at some point in the future.
